What to Expect When Dining at Amourette Near the Eiffel Tower

A friend-style walkthrough of dinner at Amourette Passy: the 200-seat terrace, sharing plates from 12€, cocktails, and a 7-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower.

Getting here

Amourette sits at 10 Boulevard Delessert, in the 16th arrondissement. From the Eiffel Tower, it is a 600-metre walk — about seven minutes if you cross the Trocadero gardens at a relaxed pace. Two metro stations serve the restaurant: Trocadero on Line 9 and Passy on Line 6. If you are coming by taxi, tell the driver "Boulevard Delessert, between Passy and Trocadero." The street is wide and lined with Haussmann buildings, and you will spot the terrace before you spot the door.

The terrace

The first thing you notice is the size. Two hundred seats spread under lime trees, with rattan furniture and low tables near the front, proper dining tables further in. During the day, the lime trees filter the light into green-gold patches on the tablecloths. At night, string lights run from branch to branch, and the whole terrace glows. It does not look staged. It looks like the kind of place where someone forgot to stop adding fairy lights and it turned out well.

In winter, the terrace is heated and partially covered. Blankets appear on the chairs. The atmosphere changes — quieter, closer, warmer — but the terrace stays open.

There is also a private room upstairs with 60 seats. We use it for private dinners, birthdays, and corporate events. More on that in a moment.

How to order: sharing cuisine

Amourette serves cuisine de partage — sharing cuisine. The idea is simple: starters arrive in the centre of the table, everyone picks. Then each person orders their own main course. Dessert is often shared too, because the portions are generous.

For a first visit, here is what we would suggest.

To share as starters:

  • Tarama blanc — 14€. Creamy, mild, served with warm bread. A good anchor.
  • Fritures de calamars, spicy mayo — 18€. Crispy, golden, the mayo has a slow heat.
  • Nems poulet — 15€. Crunchy, well-seasoned, gone fast.

For mains (one per person):

  • Saumon laque miso — 32€. The glaze caramelises under the grill, and the flesh stays soft underneath. This is the dish that regulars reorder every single time.
  • Steak tartare tradition — 26€. Hand-cut, seasoned at the table, served with fries.
  • Entrecote argentine, bearnaise — 47€. A thick, well-marbled cut. The bearnaise is made in-house daily.

For dessert (to share):

  • Pavlova fruits rouges — 22€. Meringue, cream, seasonal berries. Big enough for two.

A full dinner with two shared starters, a main, a dessert to share, and a glass of wine runs between 55€ and 80€ per person, depending on what you pick.

The cocktail hour

The bar opens at 11:30. By 18:00, the terrace fills with people drinking Aperol Spritz (15€) or Mojitos (15€). The house cocktail is the Miss Amourette — 18€, built on vodka with floral and citrus notes. If you want something stronger, the TNT Tequila Patron goes for 20€.

The wine list has over 80 French references: Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne, and a few surprises from the Rhone Valley. Ask the staff — they know the list well and will point you to something that fits your meal and your budget.

The evening atmosphere

Around 20:00, the terrace shifts. The lights come on. Conversation gets louder. There is sometimes live music — low-key, acoustic, in the background rather than on a stage. The kitchen stays open until late, because the restaurant runs from 11:30 to 02:00, seven days a week.

By 22:00, it feels more like a neighbourhood bar than a tourist restaurant. People linger. Couples share a last glass. A group at a long table orders another round of cocktails. The staff are relaxed, because they have been here all day and they know the rhythm.
